WSB Announces Two Key Director Promotions in Oil & Gas Services

Engineering and consulting firm WSB announced today two key director promotions within their Oil & Gas services. Jayson Honer was promoted to director of field services and Nate Osterberg was promoted to director of strategic growth – oil & gas. WSB’s Oil & Gas team provides comprehensive, in-house services for clients that ensure compliance to design standards, procedures, and regulations for safe construction, rehabilitation, and replacement of pipelines.

As director of field services, Honer will plan, direct, and oversee the operations of oil and gas field services across all regions of WSB. He will coordinate the ongoing management of operation, direction, and coordination of services while driving strategic field service initiatives, process improvement, and client relationship management.

As director of strategic growth – oil & gas, Osterberg will help launch new partnership opportunities that will drive expansion and engagement and grow partner-driven revenue. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry landscape, sound business judgment, and leadership to develop and grow in start-up regions.

WSB promotes Meghan Litsey to lead firm’s environmental compliance efforts

Local engineering firm WSB today announced the promotion of Meghan Litsey to director of environmental compliance. Litsey will oversee the firm’s environmental compliance services and will focus on advancing projects for the firm’s construction, municipal and environmental divisions.

“Meghan is a natural leader who has grown through the ranks at WSB,” said Mike Rief, WSB’s senior vice president of construction services. “She has earned the trust of both field and office staff and shows immense strength and leadership in challenging situations.”

Litsey has worked in the erosion and stormwater industry for nearly ten years and joined WSB in 2014. Throughout her tenure at the firm, she’s held many positions within the environmental compliance service area and is a Certified professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. She recently worked on several high-profile projects throughout the state including supporting the contract environmental compliance officer on the Highway 371 Four-Lane Expansion and prepared and completed the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for the I-35 Minnesota River Bridge.

“I’m looking forward to stepping into this leadership role,” said Litsey. “I’m most excited to elevate the team to support and grow WSB’s compliance services in Minnesota and other markets. There is a big opportunity in front of us and we have a talented team ready to drive us forward.”

WSB promotes transportation leader Kian Sabeti to vice president of strategy

Minneapolis, Minn. – Local engineering firm WSB today announced the promotion of Kian Sabeti to vice president of strategy – a new leadership role for the rapidly growing Minneapolis-based company. Sabeti will oversee growth strategies for the firm’s transportation and construction services, ensuring WSB is able to meet client needs today and in the future.

“Kian is an innovative, dynamic and trusted leader both internally within our entire organization and externally with our clients and partners,” said Bret Weiss, WSB’s president and CEO. “She has already contributed so much to our clients’ success and we are grateful for her continued leadership and insights at WSB.”

Sabeti brings more than 25 years of experience delivering transportation projects from concept development through completion. She is a trusted consultant for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and other local agencies. She also managed a team that brought the first autonomous vehicle to Minnesota for winter weather testing. Since joining WSB four years ago, Sabeti has mentored many staff members, driven strategic planning and played a key role in establishing WSB with prospective transportation clients.

“Transportation is a rapidly changing industry, so we must be strategic about how we approach new opportunities and technologies,” said Jon Chiglo, WSB’s chief operating officer. “Kian will provide an increased focus to our work and ensure we have better alignment across our many services.”

Environmental services, corporate development and technology divisions get new leadership

Minneapolis, Minn. – Local engineering firm WSB today announced the promotions of Andi Moffatt, Brian Bourassa and John Mackiewicz to vice president positions in the environmental services, corporate development and technology divisions, respectively. In their new roles, Moffatt, Bourassa and Mackiewicz will be responsible for their divisions’ revenue targets and new business goals; growing markets and service areas; and improving the use of technology solutions – all while focusing on attracting and retaining talented staff.

“I am incredibly excited about the expanded roles and responsibilities that all three of these leaders are taking on at WSB,” said Bret Weiss, WSB president and CEO. “Andi, Brian and John have made impressive impacts to our firm’s success, and I am thrilled that they will continue to help drive our results as we grow our business.”

The promotions come on the heels of significant growth at WSB, as well as the expansion of the executive team with the creation of chief financial officer and chief operating officer positions. As the fourth-largest engineering firm in the Twin Cities, WSB has 12 offices in four states, with its newest office opening recently in Austin, Texas.

Eight WSB staff members pass Professional Engineer exam

June 27, 2019

Minneapolis, Minn. – WSB is pleased to congratulate eight team members who recently passed their Professional Engineer exam. The Principles and Practice of Engineering exam is an examination required to become a Professional Engineer in the United States. To become licensed, engineers must complete a four-year college degree, have at least four years of relevant work experience and pass two intensive competency exams.

According to the Society of Women Engineers, only 13 percent of engineers in the workforce today are women. In recent years, WSB has been working on diversity and inclusion efforts both inside the company and throughout the AEC industry. Four of the eight new Professional Engineers are women.

Dylan Casey, PE
Dylan Casey recently joined WSB from the Montana Department of Transportation where he worked as a civil engineering specialist. At WSB, Dylan will specialize in field and construction engineering.

Chris Bunders, PE
Chris Bunders is a lead design engineer who specializes in planning and civil engineering for transportation, transit and municipal projects in Minnesota.

Lydia Ener, PE
Lydia Ener is a municipal engineer who specializes in feasibility reports, utility design, drafting, community engagement and construction observation and has partnered with many cities throughout the Twin Cities metro.

Alex Miller, PE
Alex Miller is a municipal engineer who works closely with cities in Minnesota to help solve their infrastructure problems. Alex specializes in residential construction projects and she was recently named the Young Engineer of the Year by the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers in 2018.

Austin Becker, PE
Austin is a professional engineer in WSB’s Bismarck office. His experience includes transportation design for both the public and private sectors, as well as construction inspection in linear highway and municipal settings. He has worked on both large and small-scale transportation systems on both state and county roadways.

Veronica Kubicek, PE
Veronica Kubicek is a professional engineer in WSB’s Bismarck office who specializes in inspection, sign data collection, utility coordination, roadway design and plan development. Veronica takes a tech-forward approach to design work and relies on several digital design programs to bring projects to life.

Evan Schnitker, PE
Evan Schnitker is a professional engineer who specializes in the design and completion of transportation infrastructure projects. Evan’s experience extends from preliminary design through final design and construction administration.

Stephanie Hatten, PE
Stephanie Hatten is a professional engineer with experience in water resource planning and engineering including surface water plan updates, long-range planning and stormwater best management practices. Stephanie is also a Certified Floodplain Manager and assists with floodplain management and agency permitting.
