The Fort Edward Community Solar Project was developed to deliver utility‑scale renewable energy to the local grid while meeting stringent interconnection and performance requirements. WSB, through its legacy firm NEO Virtus, delivered issued‑for‑construction electrical engineering for the 5 MWac single‑axis tracking solar installation in Greenwich, New York.

WSB completed the full AC and DC electrical design, including equipment specification, conductor and protection sizing, grounding and bonding strategy, and construction‑ready drawings. The use of single‑axis tracking introduced additional coordination requirements, with electrical infrastructure designed to support tracker operation across varying site conditions without compromising reliability or code compliance.

Medium‑voltage interconnection engineering was a critical component of the project. WSB designed the 34.5 kV utility feeder interconnection, coordinating protection requirements and interface standards to ensure seamless integration with the existing distribution system and compliance with utility criteria.

The resulting electrical design package supported efficient permitting, procurement, and construction, reflecting WSB’s ability to deliver practical, construction‑ready solutions for utility‑scale solar facilities.
