The EPA’s Region 10 Targeted Brownfields Assessment Program supports communities and Tribes across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska to assess former industrial and commercial sites for future reuse options. As subcontractor to Eastern Research Group since 2022, WSB provided the technical assessment services behind these projects: community outreach, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, QAPP and sampling plan development, and Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) to chart a cost-effective path toward cleanup. Our team also manages National Historic Preservation Act consultations, drafts public-facing fact sheets, and enters results into EPA’s ACRES database to keep each site tracked and funding-ready.

WSB led projects ranging from the expansion of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry to the cleanup of legacy school buildings and petroleum releases in rural Alaska villages, allowing communities to have the information needed to move these brownfields sites to cleanup and productive reuse.
