Pigeon Roost Road
Choctaw Nation’s Indian Reservation Roads (IRR) Program hosts the Pigeon Roost Road in Oklahoma. Numerous Choctaw Nation Tribal members and native American properties are located along this county road and is important to the tribal community. After years of use and limited maintenance, the Pigeon Roost Road needed upgrades in order to provide safe public travel.
The project consisted of design rehabilitation of approximately 2 miles and reconstruction of approximately 1 mile of Pigeon Roost Road (County Road NS-400) from the Jct. of US-70 to County Road EW-209. The roadway was widened a total of 4-feet (2-feet each side) with a widening machine to mix the new aggregate with existing so there was no vertical seam at the joint. Our firm provided design, survey, environmental investigations, construction management and testing. Full depth patching was performed in various locations that had base or subgrade failures. All inspections and quality assurance testing were performed according to AASHTO and ODOT specifications.
