WSB partnered with Waste Management Renewable Energy Solutions (WMRE) to support the Pheasant Point Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) project. The project transports RNG from WMRE’s production facility at the Pheasant Point landfill to a designated termination point. This termination point will allow for a future tie-in to a custody transfer facility. The project included engineering and installation of a new 8-inch steel pipeline designed for high-pressure service.
This effort required collaboration across multiple WSB business units—including Power Generation, Survey, Permitting, and Construction Inspection—as well as coordination with third-party stakeholders such as Q3 Contracting, WMRE, Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD), De las Casas Cathodic Protection, and Shactee Engineering. The project supports sustainable energy initiatives and demonstrates WSB’s ability to deliver complex, multidisciplinary solutions.
WSB overcame challenges such as route alignment issues and landowner negotiations by engineering and designing a re-route during construction to meet critical deadlines. This showcased our ability to innovate under pressure and maintain strong collaboration across diverse teams.
The successful completion of the Pheasant Point RNG pipeline earned high client satisfaction and positioned WSB as a trusted partner for future renewable energy projects. As a result, WSB has been invited to collaborate on three additional RNG pipeline projects for WMRE, providing services including survey, permitting, environmental review, right-of-way acquisition, pipeline engineering and design, construction inspection and management, and geotechnical analysis.
