Antlers Park is an important community space that offers outdoor recreation and nature preservation. The busy location features a large swimming beach, fishing pier, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playground equipment, picnic areas and shelters. It is also the location for a trailhead for the Lake Marion Greenway Trail system which will connect the park to downtown Lakeville, Casperson Park, Ritter Farm Park, and Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, as well as others. The City of Lakeville needed to modernize the area and account for better circulation of pedestrians while increasing parking capacity, as parking for the busy community space often overflowed into neighboring residential areas.

WSB worked with the City of Lakeville and project stakeholders, through a community-driven process, to develop a master plan for this key community park. The result was a plan that accounts for better circulation of pedestrians and vehicles for improved safety and better parking capacity to reduce existing conflicts with adjacent residential areas.

The master plan identifies improvements meant to highlight its historic past while meeting the existing and future needs of the community for social gatherings and water related recreation, as it has done for well over a century. Looking forward, WSB included a phasing plan that accounts for both near term and long-term improvements in line with potential funding opportunities and future land acquisitions.
