Resilient Infrastructure Grants – Fulton Creek

The City of Tulsa has long been a leader in identifying and mitigating flood risks. The Bell-Fulton Watershed master drainage plan updated floodplain mapping and identified potential protective measures. One key action item was to mitigate flash flooding at the intersection of 43rd Street South & Sheridan Road.

Tulsa County Voluntary Flood Buyout Program

In May 2019, Tulsa County endured a significant flood event, resulting in a Presidential Disaster Declaration (DR-4438). This disaster highlighted the need for a comprehensive mitigation strategy to address the flood-prone areas and protect the community.

Chickasaw Nation Community Climate Vulnerability Assessment

The Chickasaw Nation, with funding from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), partnered with WSB to develop a prioritized list of mitigation strategies addressing the region’s most pressing natural hazards—wildfire, drought, and flooding.
