Early Career Paths at WSB

Construction Internship

Gain hands-on experience in field inspection, surveying, and materials testing while building technical skills and industry knowledge that prepare you for a future in civil engineering and infrastructure development.

Municipal Internship

Support real-world municipal engineering projects through design, inspection, and surveying work while gaining practical experience that strengthens your technical skills and prepares you for a career in public infrastructure and community development.

Transportation Internship

Work alongside engineers on real transportation projects using industry tools like Civil3D and MicroStation, while gaining practical experience in design, field inspection, and environmental compliance that builds your skills and confidence for a career in infrastructure planning and mobility solutions.

Environmental Internship

Support real-world environmental fieldwork like wetland delineation, soil assessments, and wildlife surveys while gaining experience in permitting, NEPA documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration that prepares you for a career in environmental science and natural resource management.

Technology Internship

Collaborate on real-world geospatial projects using ArcGIS and GPS technologies to collect, manage, and analyze spatial data—building technical expertise and problem-solving skills that support careers in mapping, data science, and infrastructure innovation.

I accomplished the goals I set for the summer. I gained knowledge in web design and learned new programs and skills. It was also neat learning what marketing looks like in civil engineering, especially at a large company like WSB.
