WSB, through its legacy firm Poly, partnered with Okaloosa County Water and Sewer to replace the Okaloosa Island Water Booster Station, strengthening the reliability, capacity and resilience of the island’s potable water system.

Serving residents and businesses across Okaloosa Island, the new booster station was designed to increase water supply capacity while improving energy efficiency and maintaining reliable service. The project also required an approach that minimized disruption to the community during construction. As design engineer, WSB’s experts developed a modernized facility incorporating advanced pump technology to reduce energy consumption and operational costs while providing the capacity needed to support the island’s water supply. A backup generator provides additional resilience, allowing the station to remain operational during power outages and helping maintain essential water service.

The project builds on a longstanding relationship between WSB and Okaloosa County Water and Sewer. Through close coordination, the team delivered a more efficient and resilient booster station designed to support dependable potable water service for the community. This work strengthens critical water infrastructure on Okaloosa Island, helping provide residents and businesses with a reliable and efficient water supply for years to come.
