What’s the most exciting change you’ve seen at WSB?

To me the acquisition of NAK and EST have been the most exciting changes I’ve seen at WSB. That’s when I noticed very strategic changes in the growth of the company related to our business and our headcount. Those decisions are really solidified the company’s regional presence in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado.

What project(s) are you most proud to have worked on?

Working on the Highway 169 Redefine project for MnDOT, which was Minnesota’s first project where the 3D model was the deliverable for construction was an incredible experience. Getting a chance to work as a design engineer on that project and have an impact on the roadway, pedestrian, and traffic control designs was such a valuable experience for myself and pivotal moment in my career at WSB.

What stands out to you about WSB’s culture and values?

WSB truly walks the talk when it comes to it’s culture and values. It’s not a gimic or a PR stunt. The culture and values that are defined by our company are lived and breathed throughout the company. That has one of the biggest impacts on me working here at WSB.

Who is someone you’ve worked with at WSB that has really inspired or influenced you?

Jay Kennedy has had a major influence on myself since working at WSB. His passion, attitude, and motivation has been truly incredible to witness. The advice and guidance he has provided to me has also been critical in my development and growth.

Even if you’re new to WSB, can you share about a moment that made you feel like “I belog here”?

As one of the first Texas employees, we had a small group of local staff I was able to interact with. On paper it seemed like it would be difficult to be able to connect with people as part of larger company. I was integrated with larger design group and welcomed with open arms, being located in Texas was just a unique feature about myself at the company. I really felt like I was apart of something even though I was thousands of miles away from the larger company base.

Fast forward 30 years – what do you think people will say about WSB’s impact on the world?

I think people will look back at the consistency of what WSB has strived to do all along. With growth there is always change, but I think the core of who and what WSB is will always remain the same, even in 30 years.
