I-10 Katy Freeway

WSB along with Texas Department of Transportation, City of Houston, Houston Metro, Union Pacific Railroad, and CenterPoint Energy are combining efforts to reconstruct the 10-lane urban freeway, one of the top ten most congested freeways in the country, the I-1O Katy Freeway. WSB has been serving as the point of contact for coordination between all agencies and are working on developing a 3D model of the reconstruction. All parts of the design have been developed by the different agencies and are being put together by WSB. This is the first time a model has been developed in this way and at this stage of the design. The reconstruction will include the 10-lane urban freeway, an elevated four lane managed lane system, an elevated bus rapid transit system including elevated stations plus underground tunnel for drainage conveyance and mitigation.
