Project Overview

The City of Northfield, in partnership with Rice County, recently received Federal Highway Funding to assist in funding the reconstruction and safety improvements along Woodley Street (CSAH 28) from Prairie Street to Jefferson Parkway. The City and County have retained the services of WSB & Associates, Inc. to develop the proposed improvements, prepare construction plans, and assist the City during construction. Project development phase will involve a series of public meetings to engage residential input and discussion of roadway widths, sidewalks, trails, intersection configurations, drainage concerns, and other input as the City and County develop the proposed improvements.
The project will require construction easements and most likely some right-of-way to construct the improvements. As the project is developed, a series of three (3) neighborhood meetings are currently planned along with the implementation of a Technical Advisory Committee that will be established and mainly involve City, County, and Township staff to review public input and direct the development of the improvement.
The intent of providing this project-specific website is to provide current project information that would be informative and provide an electronic process to provide comments so we can understand your concerns in regards to the project. We encourage you to visit the website to receive the most up-do-date information. In addition to the website, the City will be periodically mailing project newsletters to the residents directly affected by the project. These letters will also be posted on the web page for your information.
