TH 55 and General Mills/Boone Avenue Intersection and Flood Proofing Improvements, Golden Valley

WSB was retained by the City of Golden Valley to prepare Concept Studies, Public Coordination, Utility Coordination, Preliminary Design, Final Design and Construction Administration for this traffic capacity, safety, and flooding improvement project. The project involved vertical realignment of TH 55, General Mills Boulevard and Boone Avenue to improve visibility and ride; addition of left turn lanes on TH 55 and General Mills Boulevard; additional through lanes on Boone Avenue and General Mills Boulevard; and the relocation of residential and business accesses away from the intersection. WSB traffic engineering services included preparation of Signal Justification Reports, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction services for two new traffic signal systems, three temporary traffic signal systems, and a traffic signal interconnect system.
