Gateway Area AUAR, Edina

WSB staff assisted the City of Edina in the preparation of an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) for the Gateway Study Area. The Gateway Study Area is approximately 135 acres in southern Edina and redevelopment was planned of portions of the study area. As part of the AUAR process, WSB staff worked with the public and City officials to review the AUAR process, obtain input on the redevelopment, and review the results of the environmental review. Two public meetings were held during the process and residents and landowners were able to contact WSB staff during the process to voice concerns or obtain more information. Additionally, meetings were held with the City’s Transportation Commission, Planning Commission, and City Council were opportunity for additional public involvement was provided. Through the process, the City and WSB were able to address resident’s concerns, keep them informed of the process, and assist the City in moving the environmental review forward.
