CR 81 / CSAH 17 Roadway Reconstruction
Sherburne County, MN

WSB was retained by Sherburne County to develop the final construction plans for 2.54 miles of improvements and realignment of CSAH 17 and CR 81. The improvements included a new railroad crossing of the Burlington Northern Sante Fe tracks requiring new railroad crossing signals which were tied into the US Highway 10 traffic signal system. Storm water management and water quality was handled with a combination of ditch and pond treatment along with a storm water interceptor system. CR 81 was designed with an urban section on the west side with storm sewer and a rural section on the east side. CR 81 was designed to accommodate a future five-lane urban roadway by offsetting the roadway to the west which allows for future widening when traffic volumes warrant the additional width.
