WSB Receives National ACPA Project Achievement Award

WSB’s CSAH 21 Roadway Reconstruction Project received the 2011 Project Achievement award from the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA). The award recognizes the creativity and excellence in concrete pipe and box culvert design and installation projects.

CSAH 21, in Scott County, serves as a north-south principal arterial. The extension of CSAH 21 from CSAH 42 to TH 169 provides and improves other minor arterials in the area. Currently, the underground construction involving large diameter reinforced concrete pipe installations for sanitary sewer bypass, 12”-60” installations for culverts and storm sewer, precast cattle/stock pass and precast concrete four-sided box culverts is completed and is successfully functioning. The roadway portion of the extension project is entering the final completion stages. The remaining construction will be completed in summer 2011 with anticipated roadway opening in early fall 2011.

The contractor and owner both agreed that it was one of the best, large diameter sanitary sewer realignments with which they’d been involved.
