WSB Helps Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for the
I-94 Flyover in Rogers!

A groundbreaking ceremony for the I-94 Flyover took place onsite at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9. As City Engineer of the City of Rogers, WSB was pleased to help host the event.

Honorable Mayor Jason Grimm, Representative Joyce Peppin, Senator Warren Limmer, Lesley Kandaras from Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Office, Bernie Arseneau from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Representative Erik Paulsen,

and former mayors Leigh Stanley and Paul Prizbilla were on hand to offer a few remarks regarding the project and to assist in the groundbreaking.

The project consists of construction of a new parallel exit lane on I-94 with a dual exit lane for Rogers and northbound TH 101 traffic. The new exit ramps will provide the opportunity for northbound TH 101

through traffic to go over South Diamond Lake Road prior to coming on to TH 101, thereby making the intersection of South Diamond Lake Road and TH 101 operate more efficiently. In addition, this project will improve safety on I-94 as well as TH 101 near the South Diamond Lake Road intersection. Through meetings with the city, the bridge structure over South Diamond Lake Road has been lengthened 280 feet to improve sight lines to businesses and to provide less of a visual impact with the retaining wall. As part of this project, a new traffic signal will be provided at the intersection of South Diamond Lake Road and Rogers Drive.

Construction began on Monday, April 12, and will continue into fall 2010.
