Softball Team Scores Second

Some hard-hitting WSB staff members donned their cleats and gloves to participate in the 27th Annual ACEC/MN Scholarship Fund Softball Tournament in Bloomington. The event generated over $3,000 in funds for the scholarship program. Thirty-two teams gathered on August 11 to play against each other. After playing four great games (scores listed below), the dust-laden, sweaty players entered the championship game against Bonestroo. Unfortunately, they were defeated. The team graciously accepted the Class A Runner-Up trophy. This was the second time WSB has brought home a trophy from the ACEC/MN softball event. The team placed second in Class B in 2003.

• Game 2: Defeated Sebesta Blomberg 10-2
• Game 3: Defeated MFRA 20-10
• Game 4: Defeated Dunham & Associates 12-8
• Game 5: Lost to Bonestroo 7-17
