WSB Selected for Staples North Project

The WSB team was recently selected for preliminary and final design engineering services for the Staples North/South Corridor with Railroad Overpass Project. WSB and SEH, Inc. pooled their strengths to provide Todd County and the City of Staples with the resources necessary to successfully complete this complex project.

The railroad overpass and the ultimate location of US Highway 10 (US 10) are two issues that have been left unresolved since at least 1969, when the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) held a public meeting in the City of Staples to discuss them. Since that time, several studies have been completed and many local attempts to secure funding and construction have been spearheaded.

With the US 10 decision completed, the location and completion of an overpass can finally be achieved. Because approximately $7 million of funding has been secured to date, the City of Staples and Todd County are now able to tackle the longest standing transportation issues affecting the residents and businesses of the community – public safety, community cohesion, and traffic delay.
