Finishing the placement of the steel reinforcement in the south pier cap. Once this section of the pier is poured the contractor will place beams from the south abutment to the south pier over Elm Creek.

Contractor finished the stems for pier #2 and has backfilled the footings. The next steps are to pour the pier cap and then set beams between the south abutment and pier 2. The sheeting that was removed from pier #2 is being reused on
pier #1.

Completed pile driving for pier #2 and beginning to form the footings for the pier. There will be four separate footings for

Contractor is pouring the south abutment footing. This will form the base on which the rest of the abutment will be built on. The weight of the structure is supported by the pile driven below the footing.

Pier #2 Coffer Dam is complete on the north side of Elm Creek. The contractor will begin placing pile the week of January 22 and pour the footing by February 1.

All the pile for the south abutment have been driven and filled with concrete.

Erosion control measures have been installed along Elm Creek to protect the creek from debris and soil washing down stream.

The above picture shows the contractor driving the pile for the south end of the bridge, approximately 60 feet into the ground. The weight of the bridge will be supported by the pile.
